Automobiles in German City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities reported they were notified by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Officers state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Officers then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to its source; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the event," they commented.

City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.

A senior official said the vandalism made him speechless and had to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in 2020.
