'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith renews contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the dramatic final moments of Swansea's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. That match ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles after the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a long-range effort from distance, and his teammate promptly converted the rebound before sprinting toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with fans congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

The result completed an unbelievable recovery given Swansea had trailed 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. Amid the celebrations, there was some unintended consequences. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory earned a upcoming fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for having a go from that far out," says Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right flank after they changed shape. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who praised the way his former team played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Physically they are very good but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they always find their target and they know how to control and neutralize a game. You can feel you're doing well and then abruptly they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He became a favorite as a fans' favourite across two seasons at his former club and has quickly achieved similar status in south Wales. At his previous team he linked up again with his former manager, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at lower division Salford City, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was probably a bit naive going into senior level. I think a lot of players would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without much intensity. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

National Team Success

He has shown that growth for club and country, excelling for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including two matches encounters against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This marks an incredible journey for the player from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his parent, Stuart, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's sole appearance for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they competed on an artificial pitch and the venue ceiling was shut owing to conditions of bitter cold. "It was a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he comments, chuckling. "The week before, several youth players and I trained together, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and get a couple of minutes at the end was amazing."

Moving On

What was the challenge was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "The decision proved relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I realized I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I thought I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a minibus driven by team personnel, the transport team, which shuttles players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to interact with the teammates but I'm planning to be the following person to stop using the bus and on the road. The Portuguese player enjoys practical jokes; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on London's Central line after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
